A walk in the city

My only Friday class was canceled today so I decided to go for a romp around Paris! I threw on the fun vintage blazer, a plain black t-shirt, my favorite black skinnies, a scarf and my atacomas and headed off to the metro.

Blazer - vintage
T-shirt - Gap
Scarf - H&M
Jeans - Rich & Skinny
Shoes - Acne

God, I really need to do something about my hair, such a hot mess. Anyways! My first stop was Colette, at 213 rue Saint Honoré. Colette is an interesting place. They have a random collection of cool trinkets (books, magazines, electronics, music, men's clothes, etc) on the first floor, in the basement they have a water bar, and on the second floor they have AMAZING, and often avant-garde, clothes (all designer, all expensive), shoes, accessories, beauty products, etc. Their jewelry selection is TO.DIE.FOR. I would buy 99% of it had I the money.

I personally stopped by to pick up this issue of Flaunt, featuring my favorite crazy singer, Adam Lambert. After that I walked over to Pyramides, Opéra, and then hit up boulevard Haussmann (home of the oh so famous Galeries Lafayette and Printemps department stores). I stopped by Zara, H&M and Mango before meeting my friend Emily in the Marais.

Got this cute floral skirt for cheap at Zara!

And this flowy and comfortable floral dress from H&M's new Garden Collection! (I tried to take a spinning picture - on the right - but I just ended up looking ridiculous and making myself dizzy.) I also got a white lace dress that ended up being far too tight and far too transparent.

Oh and I grabbed these ridiculously large hoop earrings as well!

Blazerama

Now that it's spring in Paris, it's finally warm enough to pull my blazers out of the back of my closet! Before running off to class yesterday I threw on this awesome blazer over my boring outfit, so I figured that merited at least a small picture. What makes it even awesome-er is that it cost me a whopping 10€ at a vintage shop in the Marais.

Someone should crown me the queen of awkward poses and faces. Really.

Blazer - Vintage
Tank top - Forever 21
Shorts - Bershka
Tights - Tabio
Belt - PacSun
Scarf - H&M
Accessories - Six, H&M, various markets

I pretty much never wear gold OR navy, but when I found this vintage Escada blazer at The Garment District in Cambridge for 30 bucks(!!)...j'ai craqué pour lui. No accessories today though. (All the ones I own are silver!)

Blazer details! So lovely. Check out the velvet at the top of the lapel.

And because I never wear gold or navy I don't really have any shoes that match with the blazer, except for maybe my yellow-gold Repetto flats, but I didn't want to wear them in the rain!

Blazer - Escada by Margaretha Ley
Dress - H&M
Tights - Wolford
Flats - Zara

I popped by Naf Naf before theater class and found this cute suede bag for 40% off! It cost me around 40€. Score!

Lust

My outfits from the past two days aren't really worth posting because all I've done is go to class. So instead I will ramble about the bag of my dreams. :)

Ah the PS1. It seems like everyone wants one these days. I haven't bought a new bag in AGES, due to a general lack of funds (I have expensive taste in bags and a small budget), but I've been drooling over the PS1 for MONTHS. Particularly the black leather, with black hardware. Oh so perfect. I doubt I'll be able to purchase one in the near future, so I will keep my eye out for affordable alternatives, but I'm picky, so we'll see. Maybe I'll manage to save up and blow all my cash on one. I tend to be crazy and impulsive when I have money.

Dreckitude

I don't watch ANTM unless there's an all-day marathon on and I've nothing to do, but The Cut put up a montage of André Leon Talley's finer moments from his ANTM debut, and his favorite buzzword, dreckitude, describes my face perfectly. I don't know what it is but whenever I'm trying to take an outfit shot my face looks ridiculous at all times. This is something I must work on. I also need a better backdrop, for my bedroom door is less than exciting.

Anyways, I just got this sweater...thing at H&M over the weekend. Still figuring out how best to wear it. I think this outfit is a bit ridiculous, but alas! I am a bit ridiculous.

Mustache t-shirt - Topshop
See-through sweater - H&M
Jeans - Tripp NYC
Boots - Frye
Rings - El Rastro, DC Big Flea & a street vendor in Rome
Bracelets - Six, Ann Taylor

And now I must run, for I will be late to theater class!

I'M BACK?!

I'm going to revive this blog. I purged it of all my old entries and I am starting anew! I have missed photographically chronicling my wardrobe choices, so here I am blogosphere! I abandoned this blog on the eve of my departure to Paris, and now that I've been here for about 7 months, my style has evolved a bit, for the better, I'd like to believe.

This is what I wore today to eat crêpes with a friend and then go to the movies (saw The Men Who Stare At Goats - hysterical yet oh so bizarre).

Clearly I have yet to master the art of flattering self-timer pictures.

Bat-wing tunic with mesh shoulders & sleeves - H&M
Studded belt - Forever 21
Heart print tights - Tabio
Lace-up wedges - Topshop
Bracelets - Bijou Brigitte
Rings - Alexander McQueen and H&M
